Living and working in Yukon

The Embassy of Canada in France is organizing a web conference in partnership with the Government of Yukon to present the numerous opportunities that exist in the territory.

Yukon is located in Canada’s Far North, bordered to the east by the Northwest Territories, to the south by British Columbia and to the west by the state of Alaska. This territory has a population of approximately 38,000 people. Known for its vast and breathtaking natural setting and wildlife, Yukon also has a thriving economy with a job market turned toward tourism, forestry, fishing, mining, quarrying and oil and gas. The unemployment rate was only 2.7% in 2018.

Yukon also has a growing francophone population. Around 15% of the population speaks French, with 4,7% having French as their first language, and being bilingual is an advantage on the job market.

During the webconference, an immigration officer with the Yukon government will present the territory, its economy and explain immigration procedures. Read more:

A representative of the Immigration Section of the Embassy of Canada in France will respond to questions about the immigration process.
