Living and working in Northwest Territories

The Embassy of Canada in France is organizing a web conference in partnership with the Government of Northwest Territories to present the opportunities to work and live that exist in Northwest Territories.

The Northwest Territoires make up a big part of northern Canada sharing boundaries with Nunavut to the east, Yukon to the west and British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan to the south. The population of 44,250 inhabitants lives in 33 communities. The capital, Yellowknife, has a population of 20,637. With its exceptional natural surroundings, the Northwest Territories can be seen as a vastopen-air playground where every season brings new experiences, such as the Northern lights.

The Northwest Territories is also an extraordinary place to launch your career: salaries are high, taxes are low and career opportunities abound. The government recognizes 11 official languages including French. 2.8% of the population speak French and many services are provided in French such as schools, day care and cultural associations.

During the web conference, an immigration officer from the Northwest Territories will present the territory, its economy and explain immigration procedures. To know more:

A representative of the Immigration Section of the Embassy of Canada in France will respond to questions about the immigration process.

The session will be in French. The question period will be in French and English.

The session will take place on Monday February 18th 2019 at 5:00 pm on line.
